Terms of Use

The guest, by making a booking with Yorkshire Short Stays, agrees to the following terms and conditions:

1. Arrival and departure The property is available from 4pm on the day of arrival. The property must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure, unless otherwise sanctioned at the discretion of the host. In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, at the time of check-in, guests may be required to confirm their identity by providing their booking reference and their passport/identity card/driving license.

2. No smoking Guests are not permitted to smoke in the property. Ash trays have been provided outside to allow you to dispose of your cigarette butts carefully and considerately. Smoking inside our premises will result in a £150 fine which will be automatically charged from the card details used for security deposit.

3. No drugs Possession and use of any drugs in the property is strictly forbidden. Any guests in breach of this rule will be removed from the property with immediate effect and we be charged a £300 fine which will be automatically charged from the card details used for security deposit.

4. No sex trade workers We strictly prohibit any sex trade activities in our properties. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or services or remove you from the property if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision to have been breached.

5. No parties or events Guests are not permitted to host any parties or events inside our premises. Any parties or events inside our premises without prior written consent will result in a £250 fine which will be automatically charged from the card details used for security deposit.

6. No pets Guests are not permitted to have pets or permit the access of any pets within the property. Pets inside our premises will result in a £150 fine which will be automatically charged from the card details used for security deposit.

7. Damage We reserve the right and you hereby authorise us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to the property during your stay (including without limitation specialist cleaning) or for any items that are missing or damaged when you leave.

8. Guest behaviour Guests are requested to conduct themselves appropriately at all times and to comply with Company procedures and/or requests with regard to conduct and respect for the property. We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or services or remove you from the property if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision to have been breached.

9. Assignment prohibited Guests are not to assign, underlet, charge, part with or share possession or occupation of the Property or any part of it.

10. Number of guests Guests agree to adhere to the number of guests confirmed at the time of their booking and should this need to be changed agree to contact the host to make arrangements.

11. Security deposits We reserve the right to request a security deposit before a booking is confirmed. Refusal to provide a requested security deposit will result in the cancellation of the booking request. Security deposits are held until the time of check-out, after which the condition of the property is assessed. If the property and it's contents are deemed to be in reasonable condition at the conclusion of a guest's stay, the security deposit will be returned to the guest in full. If the property and/or it's contents sustain loss or damage that is considered unreasonable, we reserve the right to retain a portion or total sum of the security deposit to recuperate the costs incurred by said loss or damage.

Unreasonable loss or damage is that which is incurred by way of negligence or deliberate intent of any and all persons or pets visiting the property throughout the duration of the guest's booking. Soilage and defacement may be considered damage. We kindly ask that the guest report to us any items that are inadvertently broken, lost or misplaced through the duration of their stay to avoid presumption of negligence or deliberate intent.

12. Holding deposits Future bookings 7 days or more in advance may be secured with an agreed fraction of the value of the booking accommodation rate (typically this is 20% and excludes cleaning and other fees). The guest has up until 7 days before the check in time (normally 4pm unless by prior arrangement) of their booking to cancel and have their holding deposit returned to them in full. Within 7 days of the booking check in time the guest will be invoiced for the full price of the booking. If the guest wishes to cancel their booking within 7 days of the check in time, then they will forfeit their holding deposit. If payment is not received by check in time of the day of arrival then the booking will be cancelled and the holding deposit forfeited. In this instance any late funds received by Yorkshire Short Stays from the guest additional to the holding deposit will be refunded to the guest at the expense of the guest (if any, for example Stripe or Paypal processing fees). If payment of the holding deposit is not made within 3 days of the invoice being sent then the booking will be cancelled.

13. Scope It is the responsibility of the guest that all who will be staying with and/or visiting the guest throughout the duration of their booking are to be made aware of these terms and conditions. A breach by a fellow guest (who did not make the booking) or by a visitor of the guest or fellow guests will be considered a breach of these terms and conditions by the guest and will carry the respective penalty.
